Kitchen / Bathroom Canisters DIY

Kitchen / Bathroom Canisters made from food jars, corks and spray paint DIY on BinkysNest.com
I don't know about you, but I save pretty much every glass jar we have.  Whether it be a salsa jar, a jar from pesto sauce, or even a jar of Peperoncini - if it has a metal lid and is made of glass - I save it.  And today, I am glad I have been saving them.  With a metallic can of spray paint and corks, I made a set of new kitchen or bathroom canisters.

What bathroom doesn't need a place to artfully display q-tips, cotton-balls and band-aids and what kitchen doesn't need a place to keep flour, sugar and spices?

This is one of the simplest DIY's I have ever done.  Seriously, all I had to do was spray paint the lids with Rust-oleum Painters Touch paint in Metallic Aluminum (found at any hardware store), drill a hole in the center of the lid (once the paint dried) and used a wood screw to affix the cork.  Done and done: a new set of canisters, that are unique, one of a kind and best of all, made from items you already have lying around the house!
